The African Queen is a 50ft General
Service Launch built in 1946, offering, fishing on The Skerries - reknown for plaice and ray fishing, inshore wreck and reef fishing, shark fishing, and evening bass fishing. Phoenix Charters operate a 32ft fishing boat with a top speed of 18knots. They provide sea fishing, out of Salcombe, for bass, cod, ray, sole, and plaice - angling like you always wanted it. The Salcombe-Kingsbridge Estuary is a ria (flooded valley) and bream, bass, ray, dabs and plaice
can be caught from the shore throughout the estuary. Mill Bay, opposite Salcombe, offers excellent,
and productive fishing for plaice and bass. Beach fishing is excellent along the whole of South Hams coastline, with locals favouring Slapton, Blackpool Sands, and Strete Gate in Start Bay. |
